We all have a favorite book, and we can spend hours looking at the book 'La Alfarería de Galicia' published in 1983 by the great Luciano García-Alén. For those who don't know, he was a doctor passionate about traditional Galician pottery who, in the 1970s and 1980s, embarked on a journey throughout Galicia to research the work of anonymous farmers and potters. The book was reissued in 2008 by the Barrié Foundation.

His book has become the Rosetta Stone of research on traditional Galician pottery, which he wanted to preserve and revalue. He was a pioneer in valuing anonymous craftsmen, and thanks to his work, we have documented a significant part of the pottery history and ceramic centers that no longer exist today or are in danger of disappearing.

At Casa Atlântica, we believe that the best tribute we can pay to Luciano García-Alén is to use the knowledge he left us and continue supporting and highlighting Galician potters and their rich history. This has been the seed of a project that we have been cooking for a long time and that we hope to share with you very soon...
