Testo da bica

The "bica" testo is a traditional Galician ceramic piece commonly used for cooking. In this case, we have only reproduced the bottom part.

"In Niñodaguía, as in other places in 'oleiros,' they used to make a kind of wide lid, or 'testo,' out of clay to cook the cake made with cornmeal or bica on a very hot granite stone. In this case, we have recreated only the bottom part of this type of portable oven, known as 'O señor das olas.'"

This collection consists of identical replicas of traditional Galician pieces that were once very popular and have now disappeared. We are reissuing them because we find them wonderful and believe they can now serve different purposes than they did in the past.
